Port Native Ryan Silbert on Film Fest Panel Saturday

Silbert produced an Academy Award Winning film.

There’s plenty of buzz about the Gold Coast International Film Festival. Yet perhaps one of the most exciting events is the upcoming panel at featuring Port's own . The panel will take place June 4 from 3-5 p.m.

A graduate (class of 1998), Silbert made headlines in February, when a short film he produced, "God of Love," won the Academy Award.

Silbert co-produced a new film, “Holly Rollers,” staring Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Bartha. At Saturday’s panel, Silbert will discuss the film, along with its director Kevin Asch, a Great Neck native. Co-panelists will include other local “new generation” entertainers, including Seth Swirsky (a Great Neck native who directed “Beatles Stories”), Keirda Bahruth (director of Bob And The Monster), and actress Rebecca Lawrence. They’ll share their stories, discuss future projects and answer questions.
