Port Washington's First 'Momtrepreneur' Fair is Saturday

Moms with local businesses will showcase their companies.

This Saturday will mark Port Washington's first "momtrepreneur" fair at Blumenfeld Park, from 12-2 p.m.

Open to the public, this free event will feature more than 40 local “momtreprenuers” who have home-based, web-based, or brick-and-mortar businesses, ranging from providers of handmade hairbows, tutus and jewelry to sex education, photography, organization and family mediation services.

You'll also find free, family-oriented entertainment and activities, including yoga, meditation, lego spin art, henna tattoos, a photobooth, physical fitness by Parisi, mini massages by Massage Envy, and kids music sessions held by Bach2Rock.

The event is the brainchild of local bloggers Amanda Khalil of Port Washington Mama, www.portwashingtonmama.com, and Cynthia Litman, Esq. of Mommas Pearls www.mommaspearls.com. The organizers say that as "mom bloggers," they discovered many local, talented moms and wanted to promote them and connect families to the abundance of services available right here in Port Washington.

All vendor and sponsor fees will go to cover the cost of the event and any remaining funds will be donated to HEARTS, the organization that promotes the arts in Port Washington Public Schools.

In the event of rain, the fair will be held inside the Landmark on Main Street gym.
