Chabad of Port Washington Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Local leaders and community members gather for a night of food, drink and dancing.

About 350 local leaders, members and supporters filled the brand new gym at to celebrate the organization's . Still, there was plenty of room for dancing, with men and women forming their own circles.

Nassau Count District Attorney Kathleen Rice introduced the night's honoree, Adam Katz, president of Chabad of Port Washington. Peter DeJana, president of, introduced Community Service Award to John Maura Jr. of , the company that installs the Chanukah menorah every year. The Community Builders Award went to Orly and Bryan Sherman. And Levi Paltiel, the young son of Rabbi Shalom and Sara – who is pregnant with the couple's tenth child – seemed perfectly at home addressing the crowd.

The rest of the evening was left for dancing, dining and schmoozing.
