On this first day of winter, there are plenty of happenings taking place in Port Washington. 

1. Author Michael Atkinson will be at the  discussing his book, "Hemingway Cutthroat." 7:30 p.m. Find out more

3. Tuesday at the  features painting from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., sewing and quilting from 9:30 a.m. t0 1:30 p.m., Wii sports instruction from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and bingo from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., after lunch. 

4. Port Washington artist Barbara Stein is exhibiting her work at Reconstructionist Synagogue of The North Shore. Learn more about this artist's work.
