Feb. 8: Proposed Senior Housing, Films, And an Author Visit

Doings around Port Washington.

Tuesday will see rain and snow, but not more than half an inch, according to the National Weather Service. Here's what else you need to know. 

1. The North Hempstead Housing Authority will host a question-and-answer session on the proposed senior housing near. 6 p.m. to  9 p.m. Read the latest on this issue

2. The 7 p.m. screening of the film "Race to Nowhere" at is sold out. Only those with tickets will be admitted. Learn more about this film, which looks at the "high-pressure culture that has invaded our schools and our children'€™s lives."

3. Another film, Food, Inc., will be screened at Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore. The $5 admission includes Fair Trade snacks. 7 p.m. Get the details.
