LIRR Adds Trains To Port Branch for Holiday Rush

Two trains added to train line on Thursday and Friday.

Long Island Rail Road passengers heading to Long Island for the holidays will have two additional trains to choose from on Thursday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 24. 

The LIRR is adding 14 trains on these days, two of which on the Port Washington line. 

On the Port Washington branch, the LIRR is adding the following trains:

  • 3:18 PM stopping at Woodside, Flushing, then all stops to Port Washington.
  • 3:40 PM stopping at Woodside, Flushing, then all stops to Great Neck

In addition, the LIRR is offering discounts for families on Saturday, Dec. 25, and Sunday, Dec. 26. Each adult can travel with up to four children ages five to 11 on weekend off-peak trains for 75-cents per child, each way. However, these tickets must be purchased in advanced.

Those with weekly or monthly tickets pay only for the kids.  No fee for children ages five and younger.
