UPDATE: Port Branch Now Running On or Close to Schedule

Cancellations were due to earlier signal troubles.

Earlier signal problems caused delays on the Tuesday evening, but the Long Island Rail Road says that the trains on this branch are running on or close to schedule.

The 7:01 p.m. from Penn Station to Port Washington that was originally cancelled is now running on or close to schedule.

Earlier, the LIRR reported that the 6:24 p.m. train from Penn Station to Port Washington was cancelled. Passengers instead took the 6:42 p.m. And though this train usually ended in Great Neck, it is continuing on to Port Washington.

The LIRR began reporting delays during the late afternoon rush. The cancellations were triggered by earlier Amtrak signal problems by the East River tunnels.
