Nov. 9: Health Screenings, Advocacy and PYA Sign-ups

Doings around Port Washington.

Tuesday means health screenings, advocacy and discounts at some area restaurants.

1. Get the latest on the application for the proposed cell phone tower in Port Washington North by attending the Village of Port Washington North Board of Trustees meeting. It takes place at the  at 7:30 p.m.

2. Check your blood pressure and cholesterol, and while you're at it, get tested for diabetes, too. St. Francis Hospital's outreach van will be at the , offering free health screenings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

3. Also at the library, PWGreen will hold its annual meeting, and will present an award to Jennifer Wilson-Pines for her environmental advocacy. This event starts at 7:30 p.m.

4. Long Island Restaurant Week continues in Port Washington, with three-course dinners for $24.95. Find out which restaurants are offering special discounted menus.
