Peter Wezenaar, a Port Washington resident and former school board member, died on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Wezenaar was the father of two, a graduate of Paul D. Schreiber High School's class of 1979, a graduate of University of Southern California's class of 1982, an active leader in the Port Washington Soccer Club, and a founder of the Port Washington Educational Assembly.
He died at Syosset Hospital, an affiliate of the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, after being struck by an auto while cycling on the service road of the Long Island Expressway in Old Westbury, according to a Nassau County Police Department spokeswoman.
A memorial service will be held at The Bible Church on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. at 35 Campus Drive.
