Because of the extreme heat coupled with current drought conditions, the Port Washington Water District has issued an emergency notification, asking residents to observe Nassau County irrigation ordinances. These ordinances require residents to sprinkler only on odd or even days based on the last number of their street address.
Also, there is no irrigation between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on any day. For more information, call the Port Washington Water District at 767-0171.
