Honored by the Village Officials Association

Assemblywoman Schimel and Senator Martins are honored by the Nassau Village Officials Association.

Along with Senator Jack Martins, I was honored by the Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA) Thursday night at the Crest Hollow Country Club for our advocacy and legislation to help villages.  Nassau County has 64 villages, more than any other County in New York State.

To be recognized by my colleagues in government, more importantly local government, is truly wonderful. You are all of my mayors.

President of the NCVOA and Mayor of Great Neck Village, Ralph Kreitzman gave an informative and amusing speech about the 87-year history of the association, citing minutes from the early meetings. He pointed out that the challenges mayors and their trustees face haven’t changed very much.

A beautiful benediction was offered by Rabbi Tara Feldman, of Temple Beth El of Great Neck, my spiritual home, and Mayor Kreitzman.

My speech was peppered with references to the strengths and challenges of village government as Someone who I admire said, “It takes a Village.” I have co-opted that statement during my tenure in the state legislature.

My favorite saying to a New York City Assembly member is, “I can call my mayor any time of day, can you?” And the fact of the matter is no government unit is leaner or meaner than a village.

Very nice! The question though is how Ms Schimel can support Mr Silver and Mr Dinapoli when they have paid public hush money to settle sexual harassment charges?

Ok fine , what is the date for honoring the people who
Honored Ms. Schimel ? As a taxpayer, I am sick and tired of politicians just showing up to honor and congratulate each other . And then ,go into hiding , when real issues confront them .

Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good poolRead More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

And speaking of investigations, what's up with Jonny's Roslyn CC fiasco?
