Brooklyn Man Charged with 2 Burglaries in Plandome

Incidents took place in February, police say.

A Brooklyn man now faces burglary charges for two incidents that took place in Plandome on Monday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m.

Nassau County police say Alexander Acosta, 19, of 221 Autumn Avenue, and an unknown person entered a home through a side window on Gaynor Avenue, and removed two laptops, assorted jewelry and watches. Next, according to police, they entered a home on South Drive and removed a 32-inch television.

New York City police arrested Acosta that same evening in Brooklyn, and the property was recovered at that time. On Thursday, March 7, Third Squad detectives placed Acosta in custody while at Queens Criminal Court.

Police say a second person involved in the burglaries has yet to be arrested.

Acosta is charged with two counts of burglary in the second degree. He will be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
