Car Fire Extinguished in Manorhaven

Port Washington firefighters put out a car fire within 30 minutes Sunday evening, officials said.

There were no reported injuries after a car burst into flames Sunday night in Manorhaven, officials said. 

The Port Washington Fire Department was alerted to the car fire on Ashwood Road at 10:47 p.m. Engine 855 arrived first with a crew from Protection Engine Company, followed closely behind by Engine 8513 with a combination crew of Flower Hill Hose and Protection members, officials said.

The fire was extinguished quickly and units returned to service within 30 minutes.

There were no further details yet as to the cause of the fire.
