Brooklyn Man Found Dead in Great Neck Dumpster

Nassau Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a Brooklyn man who was found Friday in a Great Neck dumpster.  The gruesome discovery was made about 4 p.m. at the Getty gas station located at 120 Cuttemill Road, police said. The victim was identified on Saturday as Menachem Stark, 39, of Brooklyn. Stark had apparently been abducted on Thursday after fighting with two men who approached him near his office near the Williamsburg Bridge, The New York Daily News reported.

Cops: Pair to Be Arrested in Nail Salon Robberies

Authorities expect that an Islip Terrace man and woman will be charged with five heists at nail salons across Nassau County between Dec. 23 and Dec. 30. The pair – Salvatore Scimeca, 55, and Elise Sandberg, 34 – was already arrested for nail salon robberies in Suffolk.

Cops Seek Help In Plainview Bogus Check Case

Nassau County Police seek the public’s help with finding two people wanted in connection with a case of forgery that took place in Plainview in October. Shortly before noon on Oct. 5, the pair presented a fraudulent check for $4,427.87 at Capital One Bank located at 1105 Old Country Road, Plainview. While waiting for the transaction to be completed the subjects became agitated, and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The subjects have succeeded in cashing fraudulent checks at several Capital One Banks across Long Island, police said. Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who can identify the subjects, or with any information about this crime to call its toll-free hotline: 1-800-244-TIPS (8477).

Three Charged with Selling Booze to Minors

Three people were  charged in connection with selling alcohol to minors, Nassau Police said. Members of the Second Precinct made the arrests last week as part of the initiative known as “Project 21.” The incidents took place in Farmingdale, Hicksville and Jericho, police say.
