Man Arrested for DWI

Incidents and arrests in the Port Washington Police District over the past week.

The following information is taken directly from the Port Washington Police District's Felony Report. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All complaints listed are only alleged crimes under local investigation.

Arrests:

A Westbury man was placed under arrest for multiple vehicle and traffic law offenses on Main Street at 4:09 p.m. on Aug. 23.

An East Elmhurst man was placed under arrest on Old Shore Road for operating a motorcycle with a suspended license at 3:55 p.m. on Aug. 24.

A Port Washington man was placed under arrest at 55 Main Street for menacing at 1:11 a.m. on Aug. 30.

A Myrtle Beach man was placed under arrest on Port Washington Blvd. for driving while intoxicated and multiple vehicle and traffic law offenses at 3:49 a.m. on Aug. 30.

Complaints:

On Aug. 24 at 1:10 p.m., a complainant at 29 Haven Avenue reported giving $1,200 to have work completed and when the complainant went to pick up the goods, the business was no longer there. A local investigation is under way.

On Aug. 25 at 6 p.m., a man at 42 Park Avenue reported an unknown person or people cashed a $1,000 check from his checking account without his permission. A local investigation is under way.

On Aug. 25 at 6:11 p.m., a woman at 4I Bay Green Lane reported that an unknown person or people stole a laptop and flat screen television from her unlocked home. A local investigation is under way.

On Aug. 28 at 3:22 p.m., a woman at 93 Main Street reported that an unknown person or people stole $275, a New York State drivers license and multiple credit cards from her pocketbook.
