How mindful are drivers of seatbelt safety?

Monday marks the beginning of Buckle Up New York, a program that runs from May 23 to June 5. That means police will be out in full force, monitoring seatbelt usage at this time.

Worn properly, seatbelts save lives. Police say that a person is twice as likely to be killed in a traffic accident if not properly restrained.
