Second Arrest in Sands Point Burglary

The burglary took place in December.

A Hempstead resident has been charged in connection with a robbery that took place in Sands Point in December 2013, authorities said.

Nassau police arrested Lovonsa Barnes, Jr., 52, of Hempstead, in connection with the burglary on Forest Drive in Sands Point.  

In January, police arrested Spencer Williams of Clifton Park, NY, for six burglaries in Sands Point, including the home on Forest Drive, as well as in Thomaston and Great Neck. Williams was charged with six counts of second-degree burglary.

On Monday, Barnes was charged with second-degree burglary is scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday in First District Court, Hempstead.
