On behalf of our team, I want to thank all of our supporters. It's a long road ahead but we are confident that good things will come. We couldn't have done this without the residents uniting together. Thank you everyone and we look forward to meeting more of you.

This is hugh and series. DiLeo is gone and his puppet Dilucia are now outnumbered. The vibe at village hall was amazing. One by one the tyrants are being replaced with honest villagers like Giovanna and Joe who will keep their promise to tear down the cell tower. Only one more to go and we will have our neighborhood back.

Congratulations Giovanna, Best wishes and always vote with your heart and it won't be wrong. Now I am no longer the only female mayor of Manorhaven! I am so glad it is you to take on this challenge. I am sure you will do well. Regards and best to you and your family

The people of Manorhaven have spoken! They finally beat the 'machine'. And what an amazing victory it was. What was even more amazing to see was Giovanna's fighting spirit in the past few months in the face of such political cowardice, such lies and non-stop hammering by the machine with its deep pockets and old cronies. Anyone else would have crumbled long ago. The un-doing of the 'machine' took place in front of our eyes last night, but it started a few years back with their unconscionable approval and installation of the cell tower on Pequot Avenue. This was their biggest mistake. They forced a 125 ft monstrosity down our throats with not a single care about our children, our health and our homes. The variance for this tower was approved by someone on the BZA who does not even live in the village. What hubris! Their actions against the will of the people exposed their grip on the village. Now it's time to turn things around. Giovanna and team will rebuild the village and run it as it should be run: with transparent government, good initiatives and open communications with the residents. Congratulations to Giovanna, Mark and Noelle! We look forward to many productive years and a bright future for our village - a true hidden gem!

Congratulations to the wonderful people of Manorhaven you finally have the leadership you need.

Poetic justice served piping hot! When testing the will of an alpha female and her pack of lionnesses, Mr. DiLeo and friends were handed their pink slips. Now they'll have the time to reflect upon how better to respect and defer to mothers defending their cubs. A leader in position of power, as was Dileo, must understand that he is stewart of the people, most especially those without a voting voice, the most defenseless of our society - children. His responsibility to keep them safe from harm is his primary role as leader and, as a real man. But then again, I digress as I am speaking of the greatest sell out of a "man" Port has ever had the displeasure to bear witness to. Mr. DiLeo? Goodbye. Good riddance. Don't come back. Ms. Guinta? You go girl!

I guess the residents opposed the cell tower?
interested follower June 20, 2012 at 01:14 PM
The true test is how the three new elected officials govern. The cell tower is a done deal. It can't be moved unless the village wants to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars and make a deal with the owner. Code enforcement is a huge problem in Manorhaven but with a beefed up force the place can be cleaned up. Governing is a balancing act, lets hope Giovanna understands that and acts accordingly.

The people backing the DeLeo team must have had a lot to lose to resort to the tactics that we're used in this election. What could that have been in a small village election? Building variances? Garbage contracts? L. Well they met their match in Giovana Guinta didn't they. They referred to us as "Crazies"because we opposed the cell tower. They told us to to "shut up" at village meetings. The village attorney, Gerard Terry, repeatedly told us he didn't have to answer us. Their arrogance is boundless. Well how is that working for them now?

I disagree with "interested follower". Obviously he did not pay attention in U.S. history class. There are three branches of. Gov't county, state and federal. Both state and federal supercede county. EPA is federal and has authority to institute the changes deserved to protect the health and wellbeing of the residents of Manorhaven and the surrounding communities of Port which the pollution of this cell tower would lay claim to. Ms.

Let's just hope that this is a "true beginning" for this tortured little village and it's not just a changing of the guard from bad to worse. Afterall, when it comes down to it, it's all politics!

Thank God Almighty!! As a long time resident, I had to stand by and watch these greedy, corrupt, and uneducated imbeciles run the affairs of this village for the past several years. Finally, they're out!!!!! This village will be so much better off without these cretins. No more DiLeo and his puppetmaster DeJana! Only DiLucia is left. And without her corrupt colleagues, she'll be kept in line for the rest of her term. Hopefully, she'll be handed her walking papers from the people of manorhaven come next election. It's time to clean house! I just hope Mrs. Giunta and her team is true to word, and not just another greedy "wannabe" with personal ambitions.

I disagree with "interested follower". Obviously he did not pay attention in U.S. history class. There are three branches of. Gov't county, state and federal. Both state and federal supercede county. EPA is one but not the only federal authority to institute the changes deserved of the residents of Manorhaven and the surrounding communities of Port which the pollution of this cell tower would lay claim to. Pay attention. Take notes. Review nightly. Get it deep into your brain oh Naysayer! They don't want it moved but REMOVED completely and there are many not-for-profit orgs who would love the opportunity to dismantle figuratively and literally that nasty Tower of Babel and turn its metal into recycled sculpture art to beautify Ports parks instead. For free at best or minimal charge at worst. And I'm sure Mayor Giunta would be gracious enough send her best Thank You note to T-mobile for their donation of scrap metal. Cause that's how we do it here on the Gold Coast, okayyyy Naysayer? WILL THE NEXT Ms. Erin Brockovich please step forward! Until then, Ms. Brocovich is available as consultant. Wouldn't hurt for Mayor Giuntas staff to make a call. Www.brockovich.com.

It takes money to get rid of the Cell Tower and guess who will pay the residents of Manorhaven what a shame.Congrats to the new mayor and trustees remember this WE ARE WATCHING YOU!
kevin June 20, 2012 at 02:37 PM
To interested follower: Fact is fact, cell tower is in the wrong place, Ag towers is going, along with Gerard, Rita and the other no names. Giovanna can do it ! Don't you worry your little itty bitty heart ! And lets say it again one more time....No Power To The Tower!!! Bye Gerry, Bye, Bye!!!
barbara ruemenapp June 20, 2012 at 02:58 PM
Please don't make the mistake of thinking the cell tower is the only issue for the Revival Party and it's followers. The complete lack of transparency and respect for residents is what ignited the response and will be handled differently by this administration.
Ben June 20, 2012 at 04:45 PM
Interested Follower - is correct It is going to be nearly impossible to move the cell tower. The situation in Manorhaven is problematic to say the least and this new team may apprear to be everything great however all that glitters is NOT gold so do not hold your breath. Guinto has her work cut out for her and i wish her success she will need it.

I think its great that the good guys won last niught and we can all get working to remove the cell tower which is a direct danger to peoples who live or work or play or drive or walk or swim anywhere near it I have faith that giovanna will get this done and I am offering my services as a consultant if i am needed and I will use the same arguments basically that i have been using for the past 15 tears to avoid taxes on my business legally and that I will be using to get the current case against me dismissed because we still have a constitution and the freedom to get rid of death machines in our neighborhood. My legal stragety is foolproof and we can tear down the tower and get a huge money payment for our civil rights that we still have without spending any more than some time on the internet and getting good sound logical based on more than 400 years of american legal cases that have argued the same things guaranteeing freedom. Congratulations Manorhaven the right people won you made the right choice.
Joe Campbell June 21, 2012 at 09:33 AM
Congratulations Giovanna! Congratulations Noelle! Congratulations Mark! Finally we have a mayor and 2 trustees who represent the people. It will be a tough road ahead recovering from the Capozzi and Meehan administrations. Let the transparency and open government begin!!!

Michelle Roper June 21, 2012 at 05:54 PM
Hello Noelle, I am a new resident to Manorhaven (2 yrs) and this is now my home. I am So thrilled that Ms. Giunta won the election and I look forward to the changes to come. I would like to see a change in the staff's attitude there and have a more cheerful office. They have been so cranky and unhappy there that it is unpleasant to deal with them. I want to feel welcomed as a resident and tax payer when I enter the office. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Sail Girl June 21, 2012 at 06:52 PM
@ Michelle Roper. I don't know what office you went into and dealt with unpleasant people but the office staff at Manorhaven village office is always pleasant and a pleasure to work with. Maybe you had an off day and were a lil nasty to them so they gave you a lil taste. I always say you give what you get.
Linda Cummings June 22, 2012 at 04:36 PM
Congratulations to Giovanna on winning the election for Mayor. You ran a great campaign and have so many followers. Wishing you best wishes and lots of luck on this new chapter in your life as well as for Manorhaven. I am behind you 100%.

"Obviously he did not pay attention in U.S. history class. There are three branches of. Gov't county, state and federal." Ummm... it's pretty obvious that SOMEONE didn't pay attention in class, Mimi. There are three branches of government - legislative, judicial and executive. It's sad you don't know that.
jane July 14, 2012 at 05:55 PM
Allright Stanley. We are 100% when we got the Cell Tower petition signed, Go girl Giovanna, lets Not put the Tower on, and lets demantle it NOW!
