A law firm representing the Village of Manorhaven is requesting radio frequency data showing cell coverage gaps from an attorney for Babylon-based AG Towers to help find an alternite site for a controversial cell tower in Manhasset Isle.
The firm, Roslyn-based Leventhal, Sliney & Mullaney, issued a letter to William D. Wexler, a North Babylon attorney for AG Towers.
In the letter, partner Steven G. Leventhal asks Wexler for the data "so that we may assist in identifying other potential site that might satisfy your client's needs."

The letter refers to a letter by the village's Board of Trustees sent to AG Towers on March 23 rather than complete construction. The board also offered to return all payments made under the existing land lease, a value of an estimated $117,000.
According to Village Attorney Gerard Terry, AG Towers never responded to the March 23 letter. In March there had been question as to whether AG Towers even received that letter, as the company's current address was in question. However Village Clerk-Treasurer Jonathan Fielding told the Port Washington News "receipt had been confirmed verbally by A.G. Towers’ attorney to 'our attorney.'”
Work on the tower, which had been dormant for nearly two years, resumed on March 27, with armed guards seen on the premises, much to the alarm of the community. Since that time, the work has been intermittent as equipment of carriers was brought to the site on vaious days.
Meanwhile, with the work nearing nearing completion, possibly by the end of April, the Village continues to push for an alternate site.
As Leventhal stated in his letter, "Please note that this a matter of great importance to the Village and its residents, and thus a matter of the utmost urgency."
