POLLING PLACE UPDATE: 2 Changes in North Hempstead

Residents asked to head to regular polling places on Tuesday, with the exception of a New Hyde Park and also a Westbury site.

With one exception, there are no post-Hurricane Sandy polling place changes for the Town of North Hempstead in Tuesday's election. All of the polling places have power, the spokesman said.

Those regularly voting at Marcus G. Christ Community Center on Jericho Turnpike, will now vote at New Hyde Park Road School, located at 300 New Hpde Park Road.

And voting at Drexel Ave. School at 161 Drexel Ave. in Westbury has moved to the Westbury Water District Garage at 160 Drexel Ave.

Supervisor Jon Kaiman said that the town has "sent crews to remove debris in the polling areas, so no debris is blocking polling access."

The Nassau County Board of Elections is working to ensure that poll sites are open and safe for voters on Election Day, according to a statement.
