Port Washington Water District: Water Is Safe To Drink

No boil water advisories have been issued.

The Port Washington Water District issued the following statement Thursday.

The Port Washington Water District Board of Commissioners would like to assure its consumers that the District experienced no interruptions in its water supply as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Most importantly, the District's water supply is safe to drink and no boil water advisories have been issued.

"Due to diligent preparations, our staff did a tremendous job ensuring
that our consumers would have clean and safe water to drink during and
after the massive storm that hit our region," said Port Washington Water
District Commissioner David Brackett.  "Several steps have been taken to
ensure that our distribution system will continue to be vigorously
monitored."

During the storm, the Port Washington Water District had additional
personnel on site around the clock to handle any potential emergencies
that might have occurred to assure residents that they would see little if
any effect to their water service.

Although power outages impacted several plants and facilities, a series of
emergency backup generators kept the District water supply pumping on a
normal schedule.  As a result, there were no reports of water loss.  A
portion of the pump stations were switched to generator power since the
beginning of the storm.

Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good poolRead More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

And speaking of investigations, what's up with Jonny's Roslyn CC fiasco?
