Schreiber Students at LI Science and Engineering Fair

Senior Minah Kim takes top prize in biochemistry.

Schreiber High School Science Research students scored honors at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair in March.  

Minah Kim won first place in biochemistry for her work, "Inhibition of the FabI enoyl-ACP reductase from Burkholderia pseudomallei." A high-school senior, Kim as reported in the January, was named as a semifinalist in the Intel Science Talent Search competition.

Honorable mentions went to Conor Boyle for environmental science, Emily Lipstein for animal science, Simon Shapiro for computer science, and Mackenzie Drukker for behavior science.

Priyanka Ninan and Julia Zeh placed third in JV environmental. Simon Shapiro received the Intel Excellence in Computer Science Award. Emily Lipstein received the Wissner-Gross Award for environmental and animal science.

LISEF invitees include the following Schreiber students: Michael Berry, Conor Boyle, Drew Feldman, Simon Shapiro, Holly Hubsher, Georgia Goodman, Hannah Zweig, Emily Lipstein, Minah Kim, Max Levine, Rebecca Herz, and Mackenzie Drukker. Feldman, it was reported in January, is also a semifinalist in the Intel Science Talent Search competition.
