The Dodge House in Port Washington Gets A Facelift

TLC for a historic home, thanks to the Dejana Foundation.

The historic Dodge House, one of the oldest homes in Port Washington, is getting a much needed paint job, thanks to the generosity of the Peter & Jeri Dejana Family Foundation.

Chris Bain, president of the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society and Bill Howard, owner of Bill’s Professional Painting LLC, say they appreciate the funding that made it possible for Bill and his crew to scrape, repair, and paint all of the trim, windows and doors of the old house.

Located at the head of the Mill Pond, the Dodge House was home to seven generations of the Dodge family, and is listed on the National Historic Register. Parts of the house date from the pre-revolutionary war period.

Work will be completed just in time for the Dodge Open House & Spring Fling, on Saturday, May 18th, from 1-5, when the community can explore local history.
